Job summary

Frontmatec, a Fortifi company, seeks a Field PLC Specialist to diagnose, program, and optimize PLC‑controlled equipment in food processing environments across North America. This hands‑on role bridges field service and controls engineering, with a focus on Siemens and Allen‑Bradley platforms.

You will mentor technicians, support installations, and collaborate withEngineering to improve products and documentation. Strong communication and travel readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or automated production engineering or equivalent.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs in an industrial environment.
• Field service or commissioning experience in food processing or sanitary manufacturing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex controls issues on PLC‑controlled equipment at customer sites.
• Program/modify PLCs, VFDs, HMIs during service interventions and upgrades.
• Support installation and commissioning of new equipment in production environments.
• Provide emergency and scheduled maintenance and repairs.
• Mentor Field Service Technicians on controls topics.
• Read drawings and provide feedback to Engineering; document field observations.
• Travel extensively and communicate effectively with customers and teams.
