Job summary

Avangrid is seeking a Field Planner in Brunswick, ME to design construction work orders using the Work Management System (WMS) and to prepare circuit maps, sketches, and estimates for maintenance and construction projects.

The role requires a two-year degree in electrical or mechanical engineering technology or seven years of line worker experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work overtime or on emergency calls. Knowledge of safety standards is essential.

• Familiar with line construction, materials, standards and procedures.

• Willing to work overtime and respond to emergencies.

Skills and Requirements

• Must have at least a two-year degree in electrical or mechanical engineering technology or related field or seven (7) years of line worker experience.
• Must be eighteen (18) years of age with a high school education or equivalent.
• Must have valid driver's license, without restrictions, and a safe, responsible driving record.
• Must be generally familiar with all kinds of line construction, materials, standards and procedures and have a working knowledge of the circuits, feeds, switches, etc., in the assigned area.
• Must have the ability and personality to properly represent the Company in the field.
• Must be familiar with the Company's published instructions and directives pertaining to the work and have the ability to write or print legibly and make accurate estimates, records and reports.
• Has a thorough knowledge of the Company's operating standards, policies, and directives pertaining to the assignments and deals courteously with all customers.
• Has a thorough knowledge of the safety instructions affecting the work and performs the work accordingly.
• Works assigned overtime and responds to emergency assignments.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the classification.
