Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Utility Supervisor to join our team. This hands-on leadership role guides field operations for utility locating and leak detection, driving safety, quality, and timely project delivery for clients’ critical infrastructure.

You will oversee crews in West Metro, East Metro, and North Metro areas, coach technicians, review safety and quality reports, and coordinate with schedulers to staff projects efficiently.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in utility line locating and/or leak detection.
• Supervisory or crew leadership experience required.
• Strong understanding of utility locating equipment, methods, and techniques.
• Ability to travel up to 25–40% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee field operations for utility locating and leak detection.
• Supervise field leads, technicians, and crews to ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and on time.
• Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to team members.
• Collaborate with schedulers, other supervisors, and business lines to efficiently staff and manage projects.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, client specifications, and federal and industry regulations.
• Conduct weekly safety meetings and champion a culture of health, safety, and quality.
• Review project data, safety documentation, and quality reports from initiation through closeout.
• Manage budgets, operating plans, and resource allocation to maintain efficiency and profitability.
• Partner with internal teams and clients to resolve field issues, improve workflows, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Participate in the hiring, onboarding, and field training of new employees.
• Assist in locates within your area when needed.
