Job summary

The City of Horseshoe Bay is seeking a Field Operator with potential progression to Field Operator II or III. This full-time role focuses on water and wastewater distribution, maintenance, and system inspections in a municipal setting.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, valid drivers license, and CDL/ Tanker endorsements preferred. Training may include certifications within 12 months. Safety and on-call duties apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid drivers license.
• Twelve months related experience and/or training; or associate degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• B Level CDL with Tanker Endorsement.
• Ability to obtain a TCEQ Water D Operator Certification and a Collection I Certification within 12 months from start date.

Responsibilities

• Performs building and grounds repair and maintenance work and drainage control, restoring grounds and facilities after repairs.
• Operates, maintains, and accounts for equipment and tools for water and wastewater line work; conducts preventative maintenance on lines; repairs customer lift stations.
• Performs operating, testing, maintenance, and repair work on water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Records operational data, meter readings, and attendance on specified forms; reads meters manually.
• Maintains and repairs equipment with hand and power tools.
• Performs taps for water and wastewater, including polyfusion welding.
• Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical malfunctions including grinder pump replacement.
• Assists with routine collection system maintenance such as sewer line cleaning and repair.
• Assists with sewer jet and vacuum unit operations and maintenance.
• Assists with equipment, facilities and vehicle maintenance and preventative tasks.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid drivers license

CDL B with Tanker Endorsement

TCEQ Water D Operator Certification (within 12 months)

Collection I Certification (within 12 months)
