Job summary

Brunel is seeking a Field Operator - Water Transfer Technician in Midland, TX to oversee field water transfer operations at active oil and gas sites. The role involves monitoring contractor activities, ensuring safety and equipment readiness, and coordinating water transfer between ponds, wells, and receiver sites.

Initial 5x2 training is 8-hour days, followed by an 8x6 rotation with 10-hour days. Field-based work outdoors is required across drilling, completions, and hydraulic fracturing

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of relevant oil and gas field experience.
• Experience monitoring contractors and field service activities.
• Basic proficiency with Google Earth or similar mapping tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide field oversight for water transfer operations from supply pipelines to receiver sites.
• Attend water transfer rig-up and rig-down activities.
• Monitor contractors during job execution and verify appropriate tools and equipment are used.
• Support verification of contractor safety requirements, including PSMS and WMS.
• Serve as a water management and water transfer representative at construction, drilling, and completions receiver sites.
• Monitor equipment, connections, metering, and overall system readiness.
• Check water transfer systems for leaks and identify safety issues.
• Verify setup readiness before contractors begin work.
• Support water transfer activities involving freshwater ponds, wells, and pond-to-pond transfers.
• Use Google Earth to support field planning and water transfer layouts.
• Monitor contractor activities and communicate issues to relevant personnel.
• Support field activities through job completion and post-mobilization activities.

This position will provide field oversight of contractor activities supporting drilling, completions, construction, and hydraulic fracturing operations. The technician will monitor water transfer activities, verify safety and operational requirements, identify field issues, and ensure contractors are properly prepared and equipped to perform their work.

• This is a field-based position requiring regular presence at active oil and gas operations and contractor work sites.
• The successful candidate must be comfortable working outdoors and monitoring field activities in an operational environment.
• The position will initially follow a 5x2 schedule with 8-hour days during training.
• Once training is completed, the schedule is expected to transition to an 8x6 rotation with 10-hour days.

Qualifications
