Baker Hughes is hiring a Field Operator – Rover in the Midland, Texas area. This entry‑level role supports drilling services operations, learning to operate surface and downhole tools, and assisting field teams at the wellsite and workshop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some oil & gas experience preferred (rig, frac, wireline, drilling, or industrial field work).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work long hours outdoors in demanding field conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Willingness to travel frequently and work nights, weekends, on-call.
• CDL or willingness to obtain is a plus.
• Previous field exposure in drilling, completions, or wellsite operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supporting routine wellsite and workshop tasks under general supervision.
• Learning to operate, handle, and maintain Drilling Services surface and downhole tools.
• Rigging up and rigging down equipment safely and efficiently.
• Developing hoisting and BHA‑handling skills during field operations.
• Operating and calibrating surface equipment as instructed.
• Maintaining accurate wellsite records, logs, and communication updates.
• Completing job‑related paperwork for yourself and assigned crew.
• Following all radiation, safety, and regulatory requirements for Drilling Services operations.
• Driving company vehicles safely and arriving on location as scheduled.
• Participating in quality improvement and continuous learning activities.
• Promoting strong customer relationships at the wellsite.
• Performing all duties in compliance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, Legal Compliance, and Core Values.
• Supporting additional operational tasks as required.

As a Field Operator – Rover, you will be responsible for:
