Job summary

Ledcor Technical Services, a North America-wide telecom contractor, is seeking a Field Operations Technician in the Sacramento area. You will perform installation, repair, configuration and testing of MACD on Nokia, Infinera and Ciena gear, supporting customer optical, electrical, voice and data services.

The role emphasizes customer service, safety, and on-site work with travel using a company vehicle. A 5+ year telecommunications background and a technical college degree are preferred;

Qualifications

  • Five plus years of experience in telecommunications, business installation and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling.
  • Positive, customer-focused approach with integrity, empathy, and sincerity.
  • Degree or diploma from a technical college preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience working in the field independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service experience to every client.
  • Resolve customer issues calmly using effective de-escalation techniques.
  • Perform onsite installation and repair of internet services, copper and fiber cabling, demarc extensions, and rackmounted networking equipment.
  • Diagnose technical problems and implement solutions, including running new cable and installing data circuits.
  • Follow Ledcor's safety standards and ensure proper use of vehicles, tools, and equipment.

Job description

As a skilled Field Operations Technician, you will utilize your technical background to work on restoration activities, preventative maintenance, and installation. Your emphasis on building trust with clients and providing a best-in-class approach to customer service will be the foundation for success. You will perform installation, repair, configuration and testing of moves, additions, changes and disconnects (MACD) on various Nokia, Infinera, and Ciena equipment. Additionally, you will work with similar products to support customer optical, electrical, voice and data services. Lastly, you will test circuits using optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR).

Essential Responsibilities
  • Deliver a highquality, customerfocused service experience to every client
  • Resolve customer issues calmly and professionally using effective deescalation techniques
  • Perform onsite installation and repair of internet services, copper and fiber cabling, demarc extensions, and rackmounted networking equipment
  • Diagnose technical problems and implement solutions, including running new cable, replacing hardware components, and installing data circuits for internet connectivity
  • Follow Ledcor's safety standards and ensure proper use of vehicles, tools, and equipment at all times
Qualifications
  • Five plus years of experience in telecommunications, business installation and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling
  • A positive, "can-do" attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
  • Degree or diploma from a technical college would be preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite

Work Conditions
  • Will be expected to travel with a company provided vehicle
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights and in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, as well as in all types of weather conditions (that are deemed safe)
Compensation

$52,800.00 - $72,600.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
