Job summary

Ledcor Group is seeking a Field Operations Technician to support restoration activities, preventative maintenance, and MACD installations on telecom equipment across North America. You will perform installation, repair, and testing, including OTDR-based circuit verification and fiber cabling, working directly with clients to ensure service quality.

The role requires hands-on field experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a customer-focused approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in telecommunications, business installation and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling
• Positive, customer-focused attitude enabling handling challenging situations with integrity and empathy
• Degree or diploma from a technical college preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Experience working in the field independently in a dynamic environment
• Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused service experience to every client
• Resolve customer issues calmly and professionally using deescalation techniques
• Perform onsite installation and repair of internet services, copper and fiber cabling, demarc extensions, and rack-mounted networking equipment
• Diagnose technical problems and implement solutions, including running new cable and installing data circuits
• Follow Ledcor's safety standards and proper use of vehicles, tools, and equipment

Ledcor Technical Services has been building and servicing communication networks for customers across North America since 1979. As a skilled Field Operations Technician, you will utilize your technical background to work on restoration activities, preventative maintenance, and installation. Your emphasis on building trust with clients and providing a best-in-class approach to customer service will be the foundation for success. You will perform installation, repair, configuration and testing of moves, additions, changes and disconnects (MACD) on various Nokia, Infinera, and Ciena equipment. Additionally, you will work with similar products to support customer optical, electrical, voice and data services. Lastly, you will test circuits using optical time domain reflectometers (OTDR).

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver a highquality, customerfocused service experience to every client
• Resolve customer issues calmly and professionally using effective deescalation techniques

• Diagnose technical problems and implement solutions, including running new cable, replacing hardware components, and installing data circuits for internet connectivity
• Follow Ledcor's safety standards and ensure proper use of vehicles, tools, and equipment at all times

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of experience in telecommunications, business installation and service for electronics, appliances, security, and/or cabling
• A positive, \"can-do\" attitude and customer focused approach that will enable you to deal with challenging situations with integrity, empathy, and sincerity
• Degree or diploma from a technical college would be preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
• Experience working in the field independently and thriving in a dynamic environment
• Clear and efficient verbal and written communication skills

Work Conditions

• Will be expected to travel with a company provided vehicle
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights and in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces, as well as in all types of weather conditions (that are deemed safe)
