Job summary

Transco Rail Services, part of Marmon Holdings, seeks a Field Operations Supervisor to lead site-level railcar repair operations. You will drive safety, quality, and productivity while managing staffing, training, and continuous improvement across a fast-paced facility network.

You will monitor daily progress, report KPIs, support audits, and ensure accurate billing and customer updates. This role offers growth across Marmon Rail and its 100+ related companies, with a strong emphasis on safety

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent.
• Experience supervising teams in industrial/railcar environments is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of safety practices and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead site operations focusing on safety, quality, and productivity.
• Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress and identify risks.
• Drive performance against KPIs including turnaround, cost, and customer satisfaction.

We are looking for a Field Operations Supervisor to lead site-level operations, drive performance, and build high-performing teams. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who thrives in fast‑paced environments and is passionate about safety, quality, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do:

On any given day, you will:

• Lead site operations with a strong focus on safety, quality, and productivity
• Conduct daily site walks to monitor work progress, identify risks, and ensure compliance
• Drive performance against key metrics including turnaround time, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction
• Manage staffing through recruitment, scheduling, training, and workforce planning
• Facilitate daily team huddles (toolbox talks) to align on safety and production goals
• Ensure accurate and timely repair tracking, reporting, and customer updates
• Monitor and report KPIs including productivity, turnaround, and cost metrics
• Participate in and support safety and quality audits
• Oversee billing accuracy and timely completion
• Support employee development, onboarding, and training initiatives
• Lead and reinforce continuous improvement and visual management practices

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking a strong, hands‑on leader with a passion for safety, team development, and operational performance.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of safety practices and quality standards
• Ability to manage teams, schedules, and production priorities
• Strong communication and problem‑solving skills
• Experience working with KPIs, reporting, and operational metrics

Preferred:

• Bachelor's Degree or some college
• Experience in railcar repair, manufacturing, or industrial environments
• Background in multi‑site or customer‑facing operations
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies

Supervisory Responsibility:

• Directly manages site employees and daily operations
• Responsible for hiring, training, performance management, and employee development
• Leads disciplinary actions and conflict resolution in accordance with company policies

Work Environment:

• Combination of field and office‑based work
• Regular time spent in a railcar repair facility environment
• Exposure to industrial conditions (noise, weather, equipment movement)
• Physical activity including walking, climbing, and light lifting
• May require extended hours based on operational needs
