Job summary

SunPower in Mountain View, CA is seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to plan, direct and coordinate field operations, lead a team of lead installers and helpers, and drive efficiency, performance and profitability.

You will monitor metrics, optimize processes, ensure quality, train staff, conduct site visits, and maintain safety and regulatory compliance while aligning with company objectives.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Operations Manager experience.
• Experience training, developing and overseeing installers.
• Strong understanding of organizational effectiveness and operations management.
• Basic IT skills including databases and MS Office.

About the Field Operations Manager position

We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to help us with planning, directing and coordinating our company’s operations. Your responsibilities will include improving efficiency, performance, productivity and profitability using effective approach and tactics. You will lead a team of lead installers and their downstream “helpers”.

Operations Manager responsibilities are:

• Monitor company’s operations and analyze their metrics, such as: cost effectiveness, time, correctness and so on
• Review and optimize existing operational systems, processes and best practices
• Oversee the compliance of operations with specifications and quality requirements
• Work to support the achievement of company’s strategic and operational objectives
• Conduct quality controls and monitor production KPI’s
• Recruit, train, supervise and appraise human resources
• Interact with clients and personnel to retrieve the feedback
• Conduct job-site visits to ensure projects are staying on-track
• Provide on-site training and employee evaluations including but not limited to: safety conformance (i.e. fall arrest gear), installation quality standards, and efficiency standards

Operations Manager requirements are:

• 5+ years’ experience of working on an Operations Manager position
• Profound experience of installer training, development and oversight
• Excellent understanding of organisational effectiveness and operations management
• Basic IT skills, including experience with databases, MS Office and so on
