We provide the highest quality liquid storage design and construction services at the best long-term value with an unrivaled customer experience. We have built over 3,500 pre-stressed concrete liquid storage tanks over the past 90 years around the country and world, as a result we have become the leader in the industry when it comes to quality and innovation.

The Field Operations Manager at DN is responsible for managing and executing the regional staffing of projects, supporting the company’s operation teams in executing projects in alignment with our safety, quality, and productivity goals. Additionally, the Field Operations Manager manages the region’s traveling tank builders and partners with internal partners to hire, technically train, professionally develop, and retain employees, developing our future generations of field workers and leaders.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with operations team to create and implement staffing plans for each project using internal tank builders, union, and local resources based on project specifications, timelines, budgets, product type and other needs.
  • Strategically allocate resources, including personnel, to enhance operational efficiency and minimize job costs through weekly job-site transfers. Assign tank builders to jobs to maximize project performance and tank builder learning opportunities.

  • Foster effective feedback between superintendents and tank builders to create learning environments on jobsites, ensuring tank builder development and career progression.
  • Partner with other regional field operations managers and operations teams to manage and support field crews through the design, implementation and execution of field processes (flights & lodging, per diem analysis, expense management, union enrollment and relations, time off and leaves of absence, technology, performance management, promotions & raises, etc.).
  • Forecast future manpower needs and partner with Talent Acquisition to determine annual hiring goals. Contribute to field hiring through screening and interviewing candidates.
  • Manage the new hire onboarding process for incoming traveling tank builders.
  • Conduct frequent jobsite visits to monitor and improve jobsite culture, provide tank builder coaching and mentoring, implement new program rollouts, collaborate on training opportunities, and support quality, safety, and productivity of projects.
Qualifications:
  • At minimum five years’ experience in the construction industry.
  • Proficient in fostering individual growth and supporting the development of employees
  • Exceptional communication skills to foster seamless team collaboration.
  • Highly developed problem-solving proficiency to address intricate and/or urgent challenges with confidence.
  • Proficient in conflict resolution, skillfully managing disputes to maintain project cohesion and harmony.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
