Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in construction materials testing with leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical specifications; strong communication skills.
• Must pass an extensive background and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Staff Supervision: Manage, schedule, and mentor a team of field technicians performing observations and tests.
• Quality Control: Ensure field testing and sampling for soils, concrete, aggregate, and asphalt comply with ASTM, ACI, IBC, or TxDOT standards.
• Safety Leadership: Lead on-site safety programs, enforce PPE rules, and conduct safety meetings.
• Equipment Management: Oversee the calibration, maintenance, and safe storage of field testing gear (such as nuclear density gauges).
• Client & Project Coordination: Serve as technical point of contact for clients, contractors, and project managers regarding field progress and testing results.
• Review & Reporting: Review field reports and data logs for accuracy, completeness, and specification compliance.
