Job summary

The Simplot Company in Grand Forks, ND is seeking a motivated student to support Raw Procurement activities focused on potatoes. This role supports the Group Field Operations team, assisting with crop sampling, data entry, and field observations.

You will work with growers and harvest crews, input yield and weather data, and help schedule harvests while pursuing a bachelor’s degree with strong GPA. Valid driver's license required; travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university.
• Strong academic record (suggested minimum 3.0 GPA).

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and performs crop sampling for field quality and crop progress.
• Works with growers as directed by Raw Procurement Manager.
• Computer input of crop progress application tracking or field observations and completes other spreadsheets as necessary.
• Records yield information by grower, commodity and variety. Tracks and records weather data.
• Works with Harvest crew to schedule harvest timeline and locate fields.
• Assists with projects/special assignments as directed.
• Supports manufacturing operations as it relates to raw product.
• Other duties as assigned.

Summary

This role will work for and support Group Field Operations Raw Procurement Manager, Field Representative, and Raw Planner/Scheduler in the area of supporting the procurement of potatoes and associated activities.
