Job summary

Kiewit Mining District is seeking a Mine Front Line Supervisor- Field Operations in North America. You will supervise day-to-day field operations, directing crews of up to 30 personnel and driving safety, quality, schedule, and team development.

A strong background in surface mining or heavy civil construction is required along with excellent communication. Location flexibility includes multiple sites; travel and relocation may be necessary.

Qualifications

• 3+ years as Front Line Supervisor in mining or heavy civil construction
• Familiar with MSHA operations
• Self-starter with strong work ethic and integrity
• Strong safety mindset and ability to lead by example
• Excellent communication and team development skills
• Willingness to relocate and travel as needed
• Ability to work nights and weekends and manage schedules

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of an assigned crew of equipment operators
• Assist in hiring, training, and development of craft personnel
• Set daily job assignments and manage performance
• Maintain open communication with crews, engineers, Safety, and Quality
• Prepare work plans and determine manpower, material, and equipment needs
• Inspect field conditions and troubleshoot problems to control costs
• Monitor budgets and enforce cost control measures
• Provide job safety training and enforce safety standards
• Ensure adherence to technical specifications and quality
• Assist with creating and coordinating 90‑day and 3‑week schedules
