Qualdoc in Candor, NC seeks an experienced Field Operations Assistant Manager to lead field teams performing heavy equipment recovery and time-sensitive operations. You will supervise personnel, coordinate equipment, uphold safety standards, and ensure work stays on schedule and within budget.

The ideal candidate has a Class A CDL, strong leadership, and comfort traveling and responding to emergency calls alongside field crews in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Requires Class A CDL and leadership experience in field operations.
• Experience with heavy equipment, cranes, trucks, and excavators.
• Knowledge of DOT and FRA regulations.
• Ability to read crane load charts and rigging requirements.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and field software.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Willingness to complete required safety training and certification programs.

Responsabilités

• Lead and support field supervisors and crews during equipment recovery, specialty lifting, railcar repair, and related field projects.
• Assign work, monitor progress, and help ensure projects meet schedules, budgets, safety standards, and customer expectations.
• Provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and problem-solving support during field operations and emergency callouts.
• Conduct jobsite visits to evaluate safety, work quality, equipment readiness, and operational risks.
• Coordinate with customers, field partners, and regulatory representatives to support efficient project execution.
• Train and mentor employees and assist with hiring, performance evaluations, and workforce planning.
• Support budgeting, labor forecasting, payroll reporting, and project documentation.
• Monitor equipment condition and coordinate maintenance or replacement as needed.
• Support customer relationships and operational improvement initiatives.

Job Type: Full-Time | Direct Hire

Starting Salary: $100,000/year; higher salary available depending on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Field Operations Assistant Manager to lead and support field teams performing heavy equipment recovery and time-sensitive field operations. This role involves supervising personnel, coordinating equipment and project activities, maintaining safety standards, and helping ensure work is completed efficiently.

The ideal candidate has a Class A CDL, strong leadership skills, and experience with heavy equipment operations. You must be comfortable responding to emergency service calls, traveling frequently, and working alongside field crews in demanding environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support field supervisors and crews during equipment recovery, specialty lifting, railcar repair, and related field projects.

• Assign work, monitor progress, and help ensure projects meet schedules, budgets, safety standards, and customer expectations.

Skills and Qualifications

• Class A CDL required.

• Leadership experience in field operations, heavy equipment, railroad services, or a related industry.

• Working knowledge of DOT and FRA regulations.

• Experience operating heavy equipment, such as cranes, trucks, and excavators.

• Ability to read and interpret crane load charts and rigging requirements.

• Strong communication, organization, decision-making, and problem‑solving skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn operational software.

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

• Ability to complete required safety training and certification programs.

Work Environment and Requirements

• Frequent overnight travel and out-of-area assignments.

• On-call availability, with the ability to report within one hour when required.

• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and physically demanding environments.

• Extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational needs require.

• Active field role involving walking in rail environments, working around equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
