Job summary

ECORP Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Archaeologist to join our Southern California cultural resources team based in Irvine, CA.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in anthropology or archaeology and has 0–2 years of experience, with knowledge of CEQA/NEPA and field methods. Strong organizational and communication skills are required.

This full-time role offers hands-on field and office work across diverse projects while supporting project delivery and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of professional archaeology.
• Understanding of CEQA, NEPA, and other federal, state, and local cultural resources.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments.
• Field school completion and experience conducting archaeological surveys.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Ability to adapt to changing project schedules, field conditions, and clients.
• Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to maintain accurate and detailed technical records.

Responsibilities

• Supports Project Managers and field teams with project coordination, scheduling, logistics.
• Assists with archaeological surveys, monitoring, excavations, and fieldwork.
• Conducts records searches, literature reviews, and related research activities.
• Prepares technical reports, site records, maps, and environmental documentation.
• Coordinates with agencies, tribes, clients, and stakeholders as directed.
• Maintains field notes, GIS data, and project documentation; supports quality control.
• Supports laboratory activities, artifact processing, cataloging, and analysis.
