Job summary

VT Group (VTG) is seeking a Site Survey Engineer to support U.S. Army network modernization.

You will perform on-site surveys at Army installations nationwide, documenting network, telecommunications, voice, cabling, power, and related infrastructure to inform modernization planning and implementation. The role requires frequent travel, independent work at government sites, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to develop survey reports and technical recommendations for engineering

Qualifications

• 5+ years in communications, telecom, network infrastructure, or installation modernization projects.
• Experience conducting technical site surveys or infrastructure assessments.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure, structured cabling systems, telecom rooms and equipment spaces.
• Fiber and copper cabling, and power distribution systems.
• Ability to travel extensively across the United States.
• Ability to read and interpret network diagrams, floor plans, and engineering drawings.
• Experience using MS Office to create technical deliverables.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site surveys at Army installations and associated facilities nationwide.
• Assess existing network, telecommunications, voice, wireless, and infrastructure environments.
• Document network rooms, telecommunications closets, equipment racks, cable pathways, and power distribution systems.
• Collect and validate inventory of network and telecommunications equipment.
• Identify infrastructure deficiencies, risks, and modernization requirements.
• Develop survey reports, site assessment packages, and supporting technical documentation.
• Coordinate directly with government stakeholders during survey activities.
• Support engineering teams with survey findings and technical recommendations.
• Assist with development of implementation plans and deployment readiness assessments.
• Support configuration and validation activities within the COMPMOD integration lab.
• Participate in project planning meetings and technical reviews.
• Travel to Army installations nationwide in support of survey tasking and customer engagements.
