Job description

Role Overview

The Field Network Centralized Operations IT Analyst will support Oxy’s Onshore Resources and Carbon Management assets by monitoring, troubleshooting, and escalating telecommunications, network, SCADA, automation, and IT service issues. This role serves as a key point of response for network and service alarms, outage communications, ticket management, and coordination with field, automation, IT, engineering, and vendor teams to help restore services quickly and reduce customer impact.

Responsibilities
  • Perform reactive monitoring and troubleshooting of telecommunications and IT issues within Oxy’s Onshore Resources and Carbon Management assets.
  • Conduct initial triage, escalation, and resolution of network and service monitored alerts.
  • Support simplification and enhancement of the customer experience.
  • Execute basic network operations functions such as monitoring site and back‑haul information, identifying component degradation, and coordinating field repairs.
  • Identify, notify, and elevate network and service issues.
  • Respond to network and service alarms to resolve customer‑impacting issues before customers become aware of outages.
  • Compose and distribute outage notifications, alerts, and brief executives on high‑risk events and major incidents.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for Automation and IT teams.
  • Handle emails from internal groups and external vendors regarding customer‑facing issues.
  • Manage outage calls and drive rapid resolution of customer‑impacting problems under supervision.
  • Direct incoming trouble calls appropriately.
  • Collaborate with ORCM automation and IT teams to resolve service issues.
  • Escalate and resolve network problems/faults with appropriate parties.
  • Track and update problems in the trouble ticketing system.
  • Monitor traffic patterns to identify potential problem areas and implement short‑term corrective actions; recommend chronic problems to Engineering for permanent resolution.
  • Identify alarm correlations and appropriate response actions for future automation.
  • Perform 12‑hour rotating shift schedule (Week1: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat, Sun; Week2: Wed, Thurs) from 7am–7pm Central Time.
Qualifications
  • Information Systems and Network experience.
  • Ability to remotely troubleshoot communication issues between SCADA System and end devices.
  • Ability to remotely troubleshoot communication issues on core network infrastructure.
  • Cybersecurity troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot OPC and applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot automation laptops and desktops.
  • Willingness to work 12‑hour shifts as specified above.
  • Strong pattern recognition and interpretation of data and graphs.
  • Strong decision‑making skills.
  • Discipline and attention to detail in delivering quality work.
  • Strong English communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical personnel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • College graduate in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience acceptable.
  • Relevant work experience (e.g., NOC, data analytics, customer service, telecom, tech industry).
  • Strong understanding of process development and runbook documentation.
  • Experience with shift work.
