Job summary

Acuren is seeking a UTSW Technician to support operations in Lafayette, LA. The role focuses on nondestructive testing using various NDT methods to assess structural integrity and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities include applying inspection criteria, documenting results, and developing techniques for customer certification. Candidates should have five years in NDT, current certifications, and may supervise others at times.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some college preferred.
• Technical background in NDT (METHOD/S; UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR, etc.) and procedures with five years experience.
• Current NDT certifications in (METHOD/S; UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR, etc.) required.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections
• Knowledge of NDT equipment

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities using NDT methods.
• Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection with safety regulations.
• Apply testing criteria per specifications and evaluate results.
• Identify, track, manage and mitigate risk on client engagements.
• Review asset documentation and operational data related to NDE activities.
• Complete integrity assessments including site walkdowns as required.
• Prepare project reports with descriptions, conclusions and recommendations.
• Perform specialized inspections as needed.
• Develop techniques for customer certification approval.
• May instruct and supervise others.
• Respect safety policies and interface with customers on schedules and problems.
• Utilize applicable software and computer equipment.
