Job summary

Potomac Testing, a TechPro Power Group company, is seeking a skilled Medium Voltage Cable Splicer to join our Fort Worth team. You will install, splice, and terminate shielded MV cables (5KV to 35KV) with a focus on safety, precision, and project compliance.

The role requires MV splicing experience, NCSCB or related certification preferred, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to work onsite with travel as needed. Collaboration with project teams and accurate documentation are essential.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid Certificate from the National Cable Splicing Termination Board (NCSCB) for splicing and terminating shielded medium voltage power cables (Preferred).
• Confined space training is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Medium Voltage Cable Splicer with a focus on safety and precision.
• High school diploma or GED; completion of an apprenticeship program is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail; ability to read and comprehend construction drawings; excellent problem-solving skills.
• Proficient use of tools including cable tuggers, rigging, hydraulic crimp tools, calipers, and knives/stripping tools.

Responsibilities

• Cable splicing and termination of shielded MV power cables using tape, connectors, and pre-manufactured kits (pre-molded/heat-shrink/cold-shrink).
• Collaborate with project teams to execute activities safely and efficiently.
• Maintain strict safety practices and conduct regular safety assessments.
• Test spliced cables to verify functionality and compliance with standards.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all splicing activities and report findings.
• Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment; report issues promptly.
