Job summary

Duke Energy Corporation is seeking a metering technician to perform installation, maintenance and testing of single-phrase and polyphase metering systems in field environments. You will troubleshot complex transformer-rated metering installations and participate in tie-testing and witness testing with other utilities.

Requirements include an associate or higher degree in engineering technology or 3–5 years related field experience, plus a valid driver's license and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate or higher degree in electronics engineering technology, electrical engineering technology, computer engineering technology or communications technology, or 3–5 years relevant field experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic math, basic computer operations, and familiarity with Office products.
• Ability to pass background screening to become NERCI-CIP compliant.

Responsibilities

• Perform self-contained and transformer-rated metering work including installation, maintenance, testing and investigations.
• Troubleshoot and wire complex transformer-rated metering installations and witness testing with other utilities.
• Handle metering material and data collection tasks; assist with admin and field coordination.
