Job summary

Construction Resources is seeking a motivated Merchandiser to join our field sales team. You will visit kitchen & bath showrooms, fabricators and design studios within your region, promoting our brands and product lines with branch support.

In this outside role, you will spend about 80% of your time in the field, handling displays, collecting samples, and assisting in-store demonstrations, with occasional Saturdays and heavy lifting up to 50 pounds. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Exceptional organization and planning skills.
• Energetic and confident in engaging with business owners and staff.
• Very strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Experience in sales, customer service or other people-oriented fields is preferred.
• Ability to occasionally work extended hours on the weekend.
• Must be over 21 yrs. of age and have a good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Engage business owners & other key decision makers through friendly, consistent and professional communications.
• Qualify and evaluate potential showrooms for displays and marketing efforts.
• Identify opportunities for CR to improve the consumer experience in the marketplace.
• Regularly conduct product informational updates, educating our retail sales partners and fabricators about CR and our lines of products.
• During these meaningful visits/discussions obtain a better understanding of their business needs and potential sales opportunities for CR.
• Customer Evaluation and categorization of all customers assigned to your region, using existing sales “intel” report to collect all information CR requires for better serve our clients and improve sales performance.
• Maintain accurate information about the customer, address, email addresses of all members of the clients’ team and updating the information into our Inventory system.
• Display maintenance and installations and marketing collaterals during these visits, ensure displays are in order and samples available.
• The merchandiser role is an outside field position where 80% of the time will be out on the field visiting customer, driving most of the time and part of your time will be spend internally at your assigned branch, helping customers showing slabs, assembling displays, collecting samples and supporting internal staff under supervision of the local Branch manager or the executive team.
• Merchandisers will be part of the internal staff as needed and will be part of the schedule rotating Saturday.
• Merchandisers should expect to handle heavy lifting, loading and unloading displays up to 50 pounds.
• Merchandisers will support distribution centers in their region.
