Job summary

Shiel Sexton seeks a Field MEP Manager to lead on-site coordination of MEP/FP trades across complex projects. You will ensure systems are installed safely, per contract documents, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.

The role covers planning MEP activities from early construction through testing, commissioning, and turnover, providing field leadership, resolving coordination issues, and coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, and design professionals to deliver integrated building

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction with substantial MEP field coordination or supervision.
• Experience as MEP Superintendent, MEP Coordinator, or foreman in a related field leadership role is preferred.
• Proficient reading of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and coordination documents.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, and meeting-facilitation skills.
• Ability to work effectively with project teams, trade partners, clients, and design professionals while focusing on safety, quality, schedule, and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily field activities for MEP trades (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection) including subcontractors and vendors.
• Develop and maintain MEP schedules, installation sequences, look-ahead plans, phasing, and site logistics with the Superintendent and Project Manager.
• Review drawings and coordination documents to identify conflicts and potential schedule impacts before they affect the work.
• Monitor field progress and ensure installed work aligns with documents, codes, and quality standards.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, start-up, commissioning, and deficiencies resolution with trade partners and design team.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering
