Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Company LP in Kenova, WV is seeking a Mechanical Systems Technician to maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems at asphalt and light product terminals. The role emphasizes PLC and electrical troubleshooting and collaboration with terminal operations, engineers, and maintenance staff.

A DOT-compliant candidate with a high school diploma and technical training is preferred, with up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
2 years of related experience is preferred; terminal operations, electrical or PLC programming experience preferred.
Excellent mechanical aptitude required.
Basic spreadsheets, word processing, and email preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect equipment and test mechanical/electrical components to determine malfunctions.
Repair and maintain mechanical and electrical components by disassembling and replacing parts.
Support coverage area in other disciplines as needed.
Schedule and perform periodic and preventative maintenance and inspections.
Install mechanical/electrical components and equipment.
Prepare maintenance records and repair orders to track equipment history.
Respond to emergency repairs when necessary.
Collaborate with engineers and project managers on new equipment installations.
