Job summary

Atlas is actively seeking an experienced Mechanical Systems Inspector to support construction and rehabilitation of water infrastructure projects in the Pacific Northwest. You will inspect process piping, pumps, valves, tanks, and treatment equipment to verify installations meet drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements, with a strong field presence.

This role requires coordination with contractors, engineers and project leadership, maintaining daily reports and field records, and

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical inspection or construction experience.
• Experience on water, wastewater, heavy civil, or industrial infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and isometrics.
• Familiarity with AWWA, ASTM, and ASME standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect process piping, pumps, valves, treatment equipment, foundations, supports, and restraints.
• Verify installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
• Witness and document hydrostatic testing, pressure testing, equipment startup, and commissioning activities.
• Review shop drawings and submittals to support inspection activities.
• Document non-conforming work and coordinate corrective actions.
• Maintain daily reports, field documentation, and photo records.
• Participate in pre-installation meetings, hold points, and quality reviews.
• Monitor contractor quality control activities and support project commissioning efforts.
