Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC seeks a Mechanical Systems/Facility Engineer to support the Savannah River Site in Aiken, SC. The role involves hands-on engineering for operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and modification of mechanical equipment in a nuclear facility.

You will respond to field problems, work with Operations, Maintenance, technicians, and other engineering disciplines to devise practical solutions, perform field walk-downs, and ensure compliance with design

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5–20 years in mechanical or facility/system engineering.
• Experience troubleshooting, maintaining, testing, evaluating, or modifying mechanical systems.
• Experience performing field walk-downs and collaborating with Operations/Maintenance/craft personnel.
• Experience with pumps, valves, piping, HVAC/ventilation, tanks, rotating equipment.
• Knowledge of applicable codes/standards (ASME, NFPA, AWWA, IBC, AISC, ACI, AWS).
• Nuclear/DOE/industrial facility experience preferred.

Aufgaben

• Provide hands-on facility and system engineering support for operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, repair, and modification of mechanical equipment in a nuclear facility.
• Respond to equipment and system problems in the field, coordinating with Operations, Maintenance, and craft personnel to develop solutions.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, evaluate failures, and recommend repairs or modifications.
• Support mechanical systems including pumps, valves, piping, HVAC, tanks, and rotating equipment.
• Perform field walk-downs and inspections to verify condition and operability.
• Review drawings, specs, procedures, and maintenance history when evaluating issues.
• Provide engineering support for maintenance, testing, and return-to-service activities.
• Design, upgrade, modify and evaluate facility systems and components with design changes and evaluations.
• Perform calculations, failure evaluations, root cause analyses, and system health assessments.
• Identify reliability issues and propose corrective actions to improve performance.
• Ensure operation within safety bases, operating limits, and regulatory requirements.
• Review proposed plant changes for impacts on design and operation.
• Resolve engineering actions and support corrective actions through formal processes.
• Maintain alignment of drawings and docs with approved design.
