Field Mechanic


McMillen, Inc. is looking for a Field Mechanic that is a hands-on individual with experience in heavy equipment repair, preventative maintenance, boats, crane assembly, disassembly, rigging, signaling, and/or barge operations. This role involves extensive travel (approximately 80%) to various job sites and requires a mechanically inclined candidate with a willingness to learn and adapt. The ideal candidates may have prior maintenance, heavy equipment repair, crane experience, or a background in mechanics with an aptitude for marine and crane-related operations.


Responsibilities:



  • Assist with the assembly and disassembly of cranes at various job sites.

  • Perform rigging and signaling duties to ensure safe operations.

  • Operate and maintain barge-based cranes and related marine equipment.

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as required by McMillen's operational needs.

  • Perform maintenance and repair on various types of equipment including, boats, and cranes.

  • Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and industry standards.


Qualifications:



  • Experience with crane erection, rigging, signaling, or barge operations preferred.

  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • Willingness to travel extensively to various jobsites in the area.

  • Teachable attitude with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing work environment.

  • Must be safety-conscious and dependable.

  • Pass a drug test and background check.

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

  • Valid driver's license.

  • Reliable transportation to and from work.


Compensation Package:



  • Pay Range: (DOE)
