JARBO is seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join a growing organization recognized as an industry leader. The role focuses on field troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair of complex mechanical equipment, including diesel engines and hydraulic systems.

You will primarily support customers in the St. Louis region with some work in the company shop, involving regional travel and occasional overnight stays. A background in heavy equipment or diesel repair is ideal.

Position Summary

We are seeking a mechanically skilled Field Service Technician to join a growing organization that is recognized as an industry leader in its field.

This is a hands‑on role focused primarily on field troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and service of complex mechanical equipment utilizing diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pumps, rotating components, and related mechanical systems.

Most of your time will be spent supporting customers throughout the St. Louis region and surrounding territories, with some work performed in the company shop. The position includes regional travel and occasional overnight stays, but is not a full‑time nationwide travel role.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone coming from a background in heavy equipment, construction equipment, equipment rental, diesel repair, hydraulic service, industrial maintenance, pumps, generators, or other mechanically intensive field service environments.

What You’ll Do

• Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment.
• Perform hands‑on service of equipment utilizing: Diesel-powered engines, Hydraulic systems and components, Pumps and motors, Bearings, shafts, seals, and rotating assemblies, and Mechanical drive systems and related components
• Diagnose mechanical and hydraulic problems using a combination of testing, inspection, schematics, and hands‑on troubleshooting.
• Complete preventive maintenance and scheduled service.
• Identify worn or failed components and determine appropriate repairs.
• Remove, repair, replace, and install mechanical components as needed.
• Assist with equipment startup, testing, and commissioning.
• Perform service and repair work in both customer facilities and the company shop.
• Communicate clearly with customers regarding equipment condition, repairs, and recommended maintenance.
• Complete service documentation and maintain accurate records of work performed.
• Work independently in the field while having access to technical support when needed.
• Maintain company tools, service vehicle, and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
• Follow company and customer safety requirements.

Preferred Experience

• Experience troubleshooting and repairing diesel‑powered equipment.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic systems, including pumps, motors, hoses, cylinders, valves, and related components.
• Experience working with mechanically complex equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems rather than simply replace parts.
• Experience with rotating equipment, pumps, bearings, shafts, seals, gearboxes, or similar components is beneficial.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, diagrams, service manuals, and hydraulic schematics.
• Experience performing field service work is strongly preferred.
• Comfortable working independently at customer locations.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills.

Prior experience with our specific equipment is not required. Candidates with strong diesel, hydraulic, heavy equipment, or industrial mechanical experience can be trained on the systems we service.

Travel

• Most travel is regional.
• Technicians will generally return home after local and regional service calls.
• Some overnight travel will be required depending on customer needs and project location.
• Travel is substantially more regional than a traditional nationwide traveling field service position.
