Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical training preferred.
• 3 years of field experience in construction materials testing.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specs.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Valid driver s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors; travel between sites.
• Knowledge of ASTM standards and soil classifications.
• Ability to document field testing and perform civil calculations.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing on soil compaction, concrete slump, air content, temperature, and cylinder sampling.
• Conduct density testing using nuclear gauges or sand cone methods.
• Observe and document field activities per project specs (ASTM, AASHTO).
• Collect samples for laboratory testing and deliver to the lab with chain-of-custody.
• Prepare clear daily field reports and submit documentation on time.
• Communicate field findings with project managers, engineers, and contractors.
• Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained per QC standards.
• Comply with safety regulations on site and in the lab.
• Vehicle maintenance and adherence to safety policies.
• Other duties may be assigned.
