Job summary

Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician in Frederick, MD. You will perform field observations and sampling of soil, aggregates, concrete, and other materials on land development and construction projects.

Qualifications

• Reliable vehicle for field work and valid driver’s license.
• Must meet pre-employment screening criteria.
• Ability to lift and/or move 60-80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, etc).
• Ability to work outdoors in various terrains and climates.
• Attention to detail and safety compliance.
• Proficient in basic math and measurement tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform field observations at local jobsites.
• Sample and test construction materials (soil, aggregates, concrete, etc).
• Prepare accurate daily logs of inspections and test results.
• Communicate project progress with PM/Operations Manager as needed.
