Job summary

WSP in the U.S. is seeking Construction Materials Testing Technicians in Asheville, NC to perform field inspections and observations for commercial, industrial, and transportation projects. You will test soils, concrete, and related materials and prepare daily field reports.

Qualifications include a minimum of 3 years in the field, a valid driver’s license, and strong written and verbal communication. Certifications such as ACI Field Level I and Troxler are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Excel.
• Flexibility to work outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on general building sites and facilities.
• Interpret project plans and specifications for compliance.
• Perform soil density testing using nuclear gauge and sand cone per ASTM.
• Perform sampling and testing of concrete per ASTM.
• Prepare and submit written field reports with results.
• Observe proof rolls, undercut operations, footing inspections and rebar.
• Test and work in accordance with safety policies.
• Monitor work procedures for compliance with specs.
• Interact with client representatives at project sites.
• Analyze data for accuracy and applicability.
