Job summary

Certerra is hiring Construction Materials Testing Technicians to perform field inspections and observations for commercial and industrial construction projects in Lenexa, Kansas. The team conducts soil density, concrete sampling, and density calculations in accordance with ASTM standards.

Successful candidates will have ACI Field Level I certification, a valid driver’s license, and at least 3 years of related experience, with a willingness to work outside normal hours and travel to project sites

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum 3 years related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License is required.
• ACI Field Level I certification (concrete sampling and field testing).
• Reliable punctuality to arrive at project sites.
• Ability to prepare reports and documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of Excel.
• Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required.
• Must pass background check and have satisfactory driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing on general building sites and facilities.
• Interpret plans and specs for project compliance.
• Perform soil density testing using nuclear gauge and sand cone per ASTM and specs.
• Perform concrete sampling and testing per ASTM and specs.
• Prepare and submit written field reports with density calculations and results.
• Observe proof rolls and footing inspections; inspect rebar.
• Adhere to company safety policies and monitor procedures for compliance.
• Interact with client representatives at project sites.
• Perform analysis or calculations to check testing data.
