Job summary

QXO is seeking a Field Manager to lead daily field operations for installation projects across assigned communities. You will coordinate schedules with customers, subcontractors, and crews while ensuring safety, codes, and quality requirements are met.

Strong leadership and customer service are essential. The role requires managing multiple projects, mentoring field personnel, and maintaining detailed project documentation while traveling between job sites and branches.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or field management experience preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of residential construction experience (finish carpentry/window installation/trims or exterior building products) preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction documents, and installation drawings.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Primarily field-based with daily travel between homes, jobsites, and branches.
  • Frequent exposure to active construction sites and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and inspect daily.
  • Ability to lift and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to travel between multiple job sites daily.
  • May require extended hours to support schedules.

What you will do:

The Field Manager oversees daily field operations to ensure installation projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company quality standards. This role serves as the primary field liaison between customers, subcontractors, installation crews, and internal teams to coordinate schedules, resolve issues, monitor workmanship, and ensure successful project completion. The ideal candidate is an experienced construction professional with strong leadership skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence.

Field Operations & Project Execution

  • Oversee daily field operations and manage installation activities across assigned projects and communities
  • Coordinate installation schedules with office personnel, customers, subcontractors, and project teams
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company quality standards, building codes, and customer specifications
  • Monitor project progress and proactively address scheduling conflicts, installation challenges, and field issues
  • Coordinate materials, labor, and equipment to support efficient project execution

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct routine jobsite visits, quality inspections, and final walkthroughs
  • Verify workmanship, installation quality, and project completeness before project closeout
  • Develop and manage punch lists to ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly
  • Monitor compliance with installation standards, manufacturer requirements, and company quality expectations
  • Identify recurring quality concerns and recommend process improvements

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, coach, and support installation crews, field technicians, and subcontractors
  • Provide field guidance, technical support, and performance feedback
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and professional development
  • Support onboarding and training of new field personnel
  • Monitor labor productivity and workforce performance to ensure operational efficiency

Customer Relations

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with homeowners, builders, contractors, and customers
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer concerns and field issues
  • Communicate project updates, schedule changes, and installation status to customers and internal teams
  • Resolve field-related customer issues while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction

Operational Support

  • Monitor labor productivity, material usage, and overall project performance
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, inspection reports, photographs, and daily field updates
  • Review blueprints, construction documents, work orders, and project specifications to ensure installation accuracy
  • Support project closeout documentation and warranty-related activities when applicable

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and enforce all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and PPE requirements
  • Conduct routine safety observations and ensure safe jobsite practices
  • Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, or operational concerns immediately
  • Maintain safe, organized, and professional jobsite environments
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Primarily field-based with daily travel between customer homes, jobsites, and branch locations
  • Frequent exposure to active construction sites and varying weather conditions
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, and perform physical inspections throughout the workday
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel between multiple job sites daily
  • May require extended hours to support project schedules and customer commitments
