Job summary

Better Talent by Laveer & Co. seeks a Field Team Member in Pacific Beach, San Diego, CA to maintain luxury vacation rentals.

You will inspect properties, perform repairs, restock supplies, and respond to service requests to ensure homes meet guest-ready standards before arrivals. The role requires four years of maintenance experience, strong knowledge of home systems, a valid driver's license, and own tools.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of four (4) years of recent, verifiable experience in residential home maintenance, remodeling, and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of residential home systems, appliances, and general property care.
  • Comfortable using mobile devices and work order or property management software.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must possess and maintain the personal tools necessary to perform assigned job duties.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, bend, kneel, crawl, and perform physical work throughout the day.
  • Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as business needs require.

Responsibilities

  • Complete scheduled property inspections to verify cleanliness, functionality, and guest readiness.
  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs as assigned.
  • Assist with same-day turnovers by preparing properties for arriving guests.
  • Restock guest amenities, linens, household supplies, and operational inventory.
  • Identify, document, and report maintenance concerns, damages, and safety hazards promptly.
  • Respond to urgent field requests, guest issues, and operational priorities as directed.
  • Ensure homes consistently meet company presentation, quality, and luxury hospitality standards.
  • Assist with appliance checks, HVAC filter replacements, battery changes, and other preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Perform general residential repairs including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, remodeling, and property improvement tasks as needed.
  • Coordinate with Housekeeping, Maintenance, and Operations teams to resolve property issues efficiently.
  • Transport supplies, equipment, and inventory between properties as needed.
  • Document completed work, inspections, photos, and property notes using company software.
  • Follow company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards at all times.
  • Represent the company professionally while interacting with guests, homeowners, vendors, and team members.
  • Assist with special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.

Position Summary

A Field Team Member is responsible for maintaining the quality, presentation, and operational readiness of luxury vacation rental properties. This role supports daily field operations by completing property inspections, maintenance tasks, supply replenishment, and responding to service requests to ensure every home meets the company's high standards before guest arrival. Field Team Members play a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience through attention to detail, efficiency, professionalism, and teamwork. This position reports directly to the Field Operations Supervisor.
This position is based in Pacific Beach, San Diego, California, and supports properties throughout the company's service area. Field Team Members work in a fast-paced hospitality environment where schedules may vary based on occupancy, guest needs, emergencies, weather conditions, and the operational needs of the company.

  • Knowledge and experience with remodeling, carpentry, drywall, painting, flooring, tile work, and general home improvements preferred.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality, presentation, and luxury standards.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing daily schedules.
  • Comfortable using mobile devices and work order or property management software.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable, insured personal vehicle required to report to work and travel between assigned properties as needed.
  • Must possess and maintain the personal tools necessary to perform assigned job duties.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, bend, kneel, crawl, and perform physical work throughout the day.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as business needs require.
  • This position supports a seven (7) day per week operation with standard operating hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Team Members must be available to work scheduled shifts within these operating hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be available for on-call assignments and after-hours emergency response when necessary to support guest needs and company operations.
  • Must maintain dependable attendance and punctuality, as this position plays a critical role in daily field operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Must be willing to work overtime when necessary to support property operations, guest needs, emergency situations, and business demands.
