Job summary

FITT Scientific is seeking a Maintenance Trades Helper for Fort Bliss, TX. This full-time, hourly position supports skilled maintenance trades and requires US citizenship or permanent residency.

You will assist journeymen by handling materials and tools, keeping the work area clean, and performing routine tasks as directed. A valid state driver license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and basic English are required.

Qualifications

• Valid state issued driver license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years.
• Able to function with a basic level of English oral and written language skills.
• Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind, blowing sand, heavy rain, sleet and snow.
• Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
• Able to pick up and move items within 50 lbs. restriction with a frequent or constant lifting of 40 lbs.
• Capable of climbing and working on equipment at 10 feet above ground limit.
• Capable of using and understanding Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Able to work past normal hours as mission dictates.

Responsibilities

• Assist workers in the skilled maintenance trades by supplying materials and tools, keeping the working area clean, and assisting journeyman by holding materials or tools.
• Perform other unskilled tasks as directed by mechanic, supervisor or shop lead.
• Operates materiel handling equipment (MHE) as required.
