Job summary

Lite-On in Plano, TX seeks a Maintenance Engineer to perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation issues to minimize downtime and keep production running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related field required or 3–7 years' experience in equipment maintenance.
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting across multiple equipment types.
• Experience with CMMS or ERP systems for maintenance documentation.
• Experience with electronics, EMS, or high-volume manufacturing preferred.

Job description

• Perform preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment, tools, and systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation‑related equipment issues.
• Ensure high equipment uptime and rapid response to production equipment failures.

Preventive Maintenance & Optimization

• Develop, execute, and continuously improve preventive maintenance (PM) programs.
• Analyze equipment performance data to identify failure trends and reliability improvement opportunities.
• Support root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action implementation for recurring equipment issues.

Manufacturing Support

• Support daily production operations by ensuring equipment readiness and minimal downtime.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, and Automation teams to improve equipment performance and process stability.
• Support new equipment installation, qualification, and production ramp‑ups.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain accurate maintenance records, PM logs, and equipment documentation in CMMS or ERP systems.
• Ensure maintenance activities comply with Lite‑On SOPs, engineering standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits related to equipment and maintenance practices.

Safety & EHS

• Ensure all maintenance activities follow Lite‑On safety, lockout/tagout, and EHS requirements.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions related to equipment or maintenance processes.
• Promote safe work practices across maintenance and production teams.
• Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, maintenance costs, and spare part usage.
• Participate in Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support capital planning and equipment upgrade recommendations.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or related technical field preferred; associate degree with relevant experience acceptable.

3–7 years of experience in equipment maintenance or industrial engineering in a manufacturing environment.

Experience with electronics, EMS, or high‑volume manufacturing preferred.

Strong hands‑on troubleshooting experience across multiple equipment types.
