Job summary

Taurus Industrial Group, LLC is seeking a skilled machinist to join our shop floor. You will read diagrams, set up mills, lathes, grinders, and drilling equipment to produce metal parts to tight tolerances.

Safe operation, adherence to procedures, and attention to detail are essential. You will work in varied climates and handle physically demanding tasks while maintaining quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to identify shop safety hazards.
• Strong knowledge of safety requirements.
• Knowledge of metals and their properties.
• Ability to produce high quality work.
• Able to understand spoken and written English effectively.
• Able to pass post offer substance testing.

Responsibilities

• Uses a variety of tools to measure, calculate, cut and modify materials.
• Processes skills and knowledge to safely operate machine shop tools and equipment.
• Follows established manufacturing methods using standard machine tools, materials and equipment.
• Adjusts feeds, speed, and depth of cut to machine quality.
• Reads diagrams and blueprints and manufactures metal parts to precise specifications.
• Set up tools such as milling machines, grinders, lathes and drilling machines.
• Correctly use precision measuring tools.
• Routinely maintains equipment to ensure cleanliness, accuracy and reliability.
