Job summary

Thompson Tractor is seeking a Lift Truck Field Technician to service and repair equipment, including internal combustion and electric lift trucks, allied products, and diesel engines. Extensive on-the-job training and vendor software knowledge are required.

Work may be in a shop or at customer sites, with emphasis on safety and problem solving. The role demands independent field work, teamwork, and commitment to customer service, with training in OSHA and MSHA standards and area-specific

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent required.
• Technical training/education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures.
• Orders and return parts for assigned jobs in a timely manner.
• Performs tasks on basic components in work area including engine, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical components: remove and install; disassemble and reassemble; perform minor adjustments.
• Performs preventive maintenance service according to factory guidelines.
• Demonstrates proper use of service information systems.
• Works in field service as experienced Technician as required.
• Adheres to and follows all applicable and required safety standards and procedures.
• Works independently in the field as required.
