Job summary

Paycom in Kyle, TX is hiring a General Laborer to support production and operations. This role involves unloading tools, preparing materials, setting up equipment, and following project instructions from the construction manager. A high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related experience are required.

The position runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Candidates must follow safety regulations and be able to assist contractors on site.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Unload tools and prepare building site materials.
• Follow project instructions from construction manager or supervisor.
• Consult with construction plans.
• Direct traffic safely around the construction or road maintenance site.
• Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks.
• Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment.
• Ensure headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn.
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist in building scaffolding and temporary structures.
• Safely operate tools such as pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, and blowtorches.
• Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting space.
• Provide assistance to contractors as needed.
• Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials.
• Ensure equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly.
• Install outdoor fence with hand picks and trenchers.
• Install other storm water pollution prevention controls.

Job Location: Kyle, TX 78640, Salary Range: $12.00 - $14.00 Hourly, The General Laborer is responsible for performing a variety of day to day tasks to assist with production, and operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Unload tools, prepare building site materials, stack building materials, and set up equipment
• Follow project instructions from construction manager or supervisor
• Consult with construction plans
• Direct traffic safely around the construction or road maintenance site
• Use construction and maintenance tools and equipment to complete daily tasks
• Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
• Ensure regulated and proper headgear, ear plugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing are worn
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Assist in building scaffolding and temporary structures
• Safely operate a variety of tools including pressure washers, jackhammers, drills, saws, grinders, and blowtorches
• Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt, or compacting space
• Provide assistance to contractors (i.e. craft workers, electricians, painters) as needed
• Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials
• Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
• Install outdoor fence with hand picks and trenchers
• Install other storm water pollution prevention controls

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• One to two years related experience and/or training

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
• Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a clerical nature.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
• Well-lighted, heated and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
• Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
• Regular work schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• No overnight travel by land and/or air.
