Responsibilities

• Prepare and protect jobsites using protective materials.
• Handle, stage, load and unload construction materials and supplies.
• Run errands to suppliers with company vehicle.
• Keep projectsites clean and organized for the next phase.
• Load and haul debris to dumpsters and assist with cleanup.
• Attend township inspections on site when needed.
• Assist carpenters with basic carpentry tasks.
• Support demolition and site prep as needed.
• Take daily jobsite photos and log activities in the app.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain professionalism on site.

Oakland, NJ | Full-Time | $26-$32 per hour, based on experience and skills

White Maple Construction builds high-end additions, whole-home renovations, and custom homes throughout Northern New Jersey. We take pride not only in the quality of our finished work, but also in maintaining clean, organized, and professional job sites throughout the construction process.

We're looking for a Field Laborer to support our carpenters and project teams across active jobsites. This is a hands-on role for someone with residential construction experience who takes pride in doing quality work, keeping a jobsite organized, and supporting the team wherever needed.

This is not a Lead Carpenter role, but it's a great opportunity for someone who wants to continue building their skills and grow toward a carpentry career over time.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and protect jobsites using Ram Board, plastic, zip walls, and other dust protection materials.
• Handle, stage, load, and unload construction materials and supplies.
• Make pickups and runs to suppliers using a company-provided truck.
• Keep jobsites clean, organized, and ready for the next phase of work.
• Load and haul debris to dumpsters and assist with general jobsite cleanup.
• Wait on-site for township inspections when needed.
• Assist carpenters with basic carpentry tasks.
• Support occasional demolition, tear-outs, and other site preparation work.
• Take daily jobsite photos and complete daily logs using our project management app.
• Follow company safety procedures and maintain a professional presence on every jobsite.

What We're Looking For

• At least 1 year of experience working on residential construction jobsites.
• Experience with demolition, material handling, jobsite preparation, and cleanup.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet throughout the workday.
• Comfortable using a smartphone to complete daily logs and take jobsite photos.
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment check.
• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work well as part of a team.

You should also have your own basic hand tools, tool belt, and cordless drill or impact driver. White Maple Construction provides the larger power tools and equipment needed for the job.

Preferred Skills

Experience in any of the following areas is a plus and may qualify you for the higher end of the pay range:

• Framing
• Window and door installation
• Drywall and taping
• Trim carpentry
• Flooring
• OSHA 10 certification
