Job summary

Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is seeking a Temporary Laboratory/Research Technician to support area Extension Associates in field research and data collection in northern New York.

The role is part-time (20 hours/week) for two months, on-site with a hybrid option, and involves outdoor tasks, sample transport, and accurate record-keeping. Prior experience in agriculture or related fields is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to work independently in collecting and summarizing data.
• Excellent oral and written communication.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather.
• Must have NY driver's license and be cleared to drive for university business.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Sound and ethical judgment when acting on behalf of the University.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to area Extension Associates in research activities.
• Flag and sign cooperating field sites for field research.
• Assist with field maintenance and crop harvests.
• Maintain accurate records and transport samples.
• Perform other related duties to support departmental priorities.
