Job summary

Advance Testing Company, Inc. is seeking a full-time Construction Materials Technician to work on projects across the Northeastern United States.

The role involves testing soils, aggregates, concrete, masonry and asphalt on construction sites and in laboratories, with training and certification provided. Successful candidates will be trained to sample and test materials, with opportunities to advance to full technician status.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• AS Degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Construction Technology, or similar, OR completed coursework toward a BS Degree in Civil Engineering or similar;
• Experience with construction materials testing and/or construction industry preferred (will be trained).
• Strong focus on safe work practices and adherence to all safety protocols
• Must be detail oriented and able to work independently
• Must be able to travel and to perform site visits
• Requires a valid, clean driver’s license
• Applicants may be required to obtain any security clearances and background confirmation for sensitive projects and locations.

Responsibilities

• Observe work in progress to ensure that procedures and materials used conform to approved drawings and specifications.
• Perform standard testing of materials.
• Prepare samples of materials for laboratory testing.
• Examine workmanship of installations for conformity to specifications.
• Maintain daily log of construction and inspection activities and complete clear, accurate reports daily.
• Prepare sketches of construction installations that correlate with testing and inspection sites.
• Other related duties may be assigned.
