SCI Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Intern for St. Charles, MO.

This paid summer internship supports field and laboratory testing of construction materials under the guidance of experienced technicians and engineers. You will gain hands-on experience collecting samples, performing basic tests, recording results, and learning industry procedures while working outdoors and communicating with construction crews.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; pursuing a degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
• No prior experience required, but exposure to construction or testing is a plus.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with compaction testing using nuclear and drive cylinder gauges.
• Conduct basic concrete sampling and testing.
• Measure soil moisture content.
• Complete field logs, test forms, and data entry with attention to detail.
• Communicate test results with field and office personnel.
• Learn to read construction documents and blueprints.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain equipment.
