Field Support Technician

Brechbuhler Scales, Inc. | www.brechbuhler.com

Canton, OH (Office Location) | Full Time | Salary $65,000+/year | Frequent Travel Required

Overview
We're looking for a technically skilled, people-friendly Field Support Technician who thrives in dynamic environments and isn’t afraid to hit the road — or the skies. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with hardware, and representing a company with pride and professionalism.

Travel is a major component of this job. If you're not comfortable flying regularly, navigating airports, or working out of state for days at a time — this may not be the right fit. When you're not traveling, you’ll be based at our Canton, OH office providing remote support and assisting with staging and prep work.

Requirements:

What You’ll Do:

  • Install and configure networking equipment, IP cameras, and computer hardware
  • Run low-voltage cabling and provide power setup for system installations
  • Provide technical support via phone, email, and remote tools
  • Represent our company professionally during onsite visits and work directly with customers
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues across a variety of platforms
  • Guide non-technical users through setup, training, and support
  • Document site visits, resolutions, and recurring issues
  • Travel frequently, sometimes with short notice – including commercial air travel
  • Work outdoors and in active industrial environments in all types of weather

What You Bring:

  • Working knowledge of computer hardware, networking (switches, IP addressing, routers), and IP-based systems
  • Hands-on experience or willingness to learn cabling, mounting hardware, and low-voltage power
  • Strong interpersonal skills – able to speak clearly with customers of all technical levels
  • A professional presence and the ability to handle onsite situations independently
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
  • No hesitation flying frequently – you must be comfortable with regular commercial air travel
  • A valid passport or willingness to obtain one (occasional international travel may be required)
  • Based locally and able to work in-office when not on the road

Bonus Points For:

  • CompTIAA+, Network+, or similar certifications
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Familiarity with access control, security, or scale systems

Why This Role Rocks:

  • Travel across the U.S. while solving real-world technical challenges
  • Be part of a tight-knit team that values quality, service, and innovation
  • Work hands-on with a mix of hardware, networking, and customer support
  • Clear growth path into senior technical or project roles

Important: This is a full-time W2 position based out of our Canton, OH office. Travel is required and frequent. If you’re not comfortable flying often or being away from home regularly, this role is not a fit.
