Job summary

Res Group is seeking an Intern or Co-op Intern to support one or more experienced Field Engineers, shadow operations, and take on unique assignments that support larger projects while learning day-to-day field engineering.

Internships are typically 10 weeks long. Candidates must be 18+ years old and US Citizens. The role emphasizes safety walks, documentation updates, and close collaboration with the project team.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a BS in Construction Management, Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Willing to travel 76-100%.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Internship/Co-op at project location may require relocation.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct safety walks to reinforce safe behaviors.
  • Assist verification that all field installations are per engineered IFC drawings.
  • Assist with maintenance and updates to project documentation using SharePoint, Procore, or client systems.
  • Assist in the update and tracking of project tools (Procurement, RFIs, SWIs, Submittal Logs, POD, Material Tracking).
  • Assist team in resolution of field-level technical issues.
  • Attend project meetings, take minutes, and distribute to PM team and client as required.
  • Professional communication to strengthen client relationships.
  • Support continuous improvement at project and corporate level through feedback.
  • Assist in quality field inspections.
  • Operate company vehicle safely in all road/weather conditions.
  • Attend work regularly and punctually.
  • Comply with policies and safety requirements.
  • Present and lead by example with a safety and quality attitude.
  • Collaborate effectively with peers and supervisors.

BS in Construction Management or Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering

Summary

An Intern or Co-op Intern will typically support one or more experienced Field Engineers in the performance of their assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of Field Engineering.

Internships are generally 10-weeks in length. Qualified Candidates must be 18 years of age or older and US Citizens.

Requirements
  • Conducts safety walks to reinforce safe behaviors and correct unsafe actions.
  • Assists with verification that all field installations are per engineered IFC drawings.
  • Assists with maintenance and updates to project documentation, as needed, utilizing SharePoint, Procore, or Client systems.
  • Assists in the update and tracking of project specific tracking tools, including but not limited to Procurement, Request for Information (RFI), Safe Work Instructions (SWI), Submittal Logs, Plan of Day (POD), and Material Tracking.
  • Assists team in resolution of field-level technical issues.
  • Attends project meetings, takes minutes and distributes to Project Management Team for review and distribution to full project team, including Client as required.
  • Professionally communicates to strengthen and continually maintain Client relationships.
  • Supports continuous improvement at project and corporate level through feedback
  • Assists in quality field inspections
  • Operates company assigned vehicle in a safe manner in all types of road and weather conditions.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Collaborate effectively with peers and supervisors.
Safety
  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
Qualifications
  • Working toward a BS in Construction Management or Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) required.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Must be able to travel 76-100% of the time.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Must be able to complete an Internship or Co-op at any project location. This often requires relocating out of state.
  • Ability to adopt and navigate new software systems to support project needs.
  • Function competencies include Attention to Detail, Communication, Drive, Prioritization and Teamwork.

Anticipated base salary range: $20-23/hour

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.

Frequently exposed to extreme cold, extreme head, humidity, wet, and hazards in the work environment.
