Job summary

Equipment & Controls, Inc. in Solon, OH seeks a field service technician specializing in process control instrumentation. You will support startup, troubleshoot communications, and work with onsite installation crews to deliver reliable flow measurement solutions.

The ideal candidate has a technical degree and hands-on experience with Rosemount, Micro Motion, and other instrumentation, plus ability to travel and operate electrical tools; a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

Technical degree or equivalent field experience; 5+ years experience with Rosemount products preferred.
Familiarity with Rosemount and Micro Motion.
Familiarity with Foxboro, Endress & Hauser, Yokogawa, and other instrumentation.
Ability to use hand and power tools, read blueprints.
Understand instrumentation and electrical work; 480V experience preferred.
Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
Familiarity with TCP/IP, networking fundamentals, Modbus, RS232/485, and Hart communications.
Experience managing customer projects and working independently.
Current driver’s license.
Ability to travel out of town and work in the field.

Responsibilities

Support customers in process control instrumentation and equipment startup with focus on flow measurement equipment
Verify, troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation and equipment communications
Inspect instrument wiring, power and grounding of installation
Set up instruments with Hart 475 field communicator
Work with onsite installation crew
Replace/install instrumentation and equipment
Troubleshoot failed instruments and equipment
Develop solutions to resolve instrumentation and equipment problems
Calibration of measurement and flow transmitters
Providing clear and effective documentation of services provided to customers
