Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services places you at Westinghouse Waltz Mill in Madison, PA, for a 12+ month contract. You’ll receive training in July 2026 before deployment to nuclear sites nationwide to perform instrumentation and control tasks.

Your role includes installing, calibrating, and maintaining I&C devices, PLCs, sensors, and automated control systems, plus operating ZAP EDM sinks for precision work and testing with scopes and simulators.

Qualifications

  • Background in electronics; military training/experience preferred.
  • Mech aptitude and experience with precision equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, calibrate, maintain, and repair I&C devices, PLCs, sensors, and automated control systems.
  • Set up, operate, and program ZAP EDM sinker equipment for precision manufacturing tasks.
  • Use oscilloscopes, DMMs, and vendor simulators for instrumentation testing and diagnostics.
  • Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and instructions; execute formal test procedures.
  • Operate a broad range of electrical/electronic test equipment to verify performance and resolve issues.
  • Support generalized I&C field work and cross-training.
  • Perform field cable installation in industrial environments.

Step into a field role where precision electronics meet nuclear operationsThis 12+ month contract places you at the intersection of instrumentation & controls (I&C) and precision EDM manufacturing. Your journey begins with hands-on training in July 2026 at the Westinghouse Waltz Mill facility in Madison, PA. After training, you’ll deploy to nuclear sites across the country to execute critical work that keeps complex systems running safely and reliably.A day in the lifeYou start by reviewing engineering drawings and test procedures, then head to the floor or the field. Some days you’ll program and run ZAP EDM sinker machines for ultra-precise work; others you’ll be calibrating sensors, troubleshooting PLC-based control circuits, or performing instrumentation tests with digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and vendor simulators. You’ll document your work, keep equipment logs current, and coordinate with engineering and production teams to support manufacturing operations without missing a beat.
