Job Description

Position Summary

The Field Installation Manager serves as the leader of all installation and field operations for Shore Industries. This position is responsible for overseeing installation personnel, coordinating labor and resources, maintaining quality and safety standards, managing company assets and equipment, and ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate is an experienced construction and field operations professional with strong leadership abilities, a commitment to accountability, and a passion for developing high-performing teams. This position works closely with Program Management, Sales, Production, and Executive Leadership to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.

About Shore Industries

At Shore Industries, we exemplify Craftsmanship Excellence by delivering high-quality outdoor living products with meticulous attention to detail. Our culture embraces Innovation and Adaptability, allowing us to continuously improve and lead our industry forward.

Our core values guide everything we do:

  • Service – Dedication to serving customers, community, and each other with positive impact.
  • Honesty – Transparency and integrity in every interaction and every estimate.
  • Ownership – Full accountability from first call through long-term performance.
  • Results – Delivering impactful outcomes that customers can see, measure, and trust.
  • Excellence – The highest quality in design, fabrication, and on-site execution.

We foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth while helping our employees achieve their personal, professional, and financial goals.

What Success Looks Like

  • Projects completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • High customer satisfaction and positive client relationships.
  • Strong safety performance and OSHA compliance.
  • Reduced installation callbacks and warranty-related issues.
  • Productive, engaged, and accountable installation teams.
  • Effective stewardship of company equipment, vehicles, and assets.
  • Continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the installation crew (2 full-time + seasonal), assigning daily work and holding the team to safety, quality, and timeline standards.
  • Plan and run the install calendar — large shade-structure projects, porch enclosures, and service work — coordinating labor, materials, and equipment so jobs land on schedule.
  • Be the on-site technical resource and decision-maker; resolve jobsite problems without escalating routine questions to ownership.
  • Perform quality inspections on every install and drive down callbacks and warranty issues.
  • Operate and supervise the safe use of equipment — skid steers, telehandlers, forklifts, augers, excavation equipment — and keep all vehicles, trailers, and lifts maintained, inspected, and documented.
  • Manage the seasonal cycle: shade installs in spring, take-downs in fall, and a structured winter program of inventory, repair/warranty evaluation, and cleaning.
  • Enforce OSHA-compliant practices and jobsite safety standards across the crew.
  • Build the operational structure the role currently lacks — checklists, schedules, equipment logs, and repeatable processes.
  • Support strong customer relationships by delivering clean installs and handling concerns professionally on site.
  • Train, mentor, and develop installers to raise the overall capability of the team.
  • Coordinate with sales and leadership so field execution keeps pace with the rising volume sales is generating.
  • Maintain accurate records of jobs, productivity, and equipment usage.

What We're Looking ForNon-Negotiables

  • Minimum 5 years of construction or installation field experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of crew leadership / supervisory experience — has genuinely run a crew, not just been the senior guy on it.
  • Strong personnel-management and leadership skills; can motivate, direct, and hold a team accountable.
  • Thorough knowledge of residential and commercial construction practices, installation methods, tools, and jobsite management.
  • Project planning and coordination ability with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Comfortable operating — or quickly learning — heavy equipment: skid steers/bobcats, excavation equipment, augers, telehandlers, forklifts.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Field Requirements

Onsite role based in Preston, MD. Physical work including lifting, working at height on lifts, and operating heavy equipment in varied weather. Some travel required depending on project location, with occasional overnight stays. Overtime and occasional weekend work during peak season.

As Shore Industries grows, this role is the foundation of the operations function. A Lead Installer who demonstrates ownership and delivers results can expand into broader operations-management responsibility — running multiple crews, owning more of the P&L for field operations, and helping build the team as volume scales. This is a build-and-lead opportunity, not a maintenance seat.

Base: $75,000–$95,000/yr based on experience, leadership track record, and equipment expertise. Performance incentives available tied to efficiency, safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and team development.

Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance; supplemental (Aflac); 401(k) with company match; paid holidays and PTO; tuition reimbursement; professional training and development; year-round work.
