Job summary

SGS North America Inc. seeks a Supervisor to lead a team of Field Inspectors in Florida, ensuring procedures are followed and samples are collected per protocol.

The role involves training inspectors, coordinating health & safety practices, and maintaining equipment and reporting. Strong supervisory experience in inspection or related fields is required; a science background is a strong asset.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Post-Secondary Education (degree or diploma) in a Science related program (Chemistry, Chemical Engineering) is a strong asset.
• Minimum over 3 years' experience in a related industry is a strong asset.
• Over 3 years of supervisory experience would be a definite asset; strong leadership skills and experience supervising small teams in similar environments (inspection, construction, or industrial).

Responsibilities

• Supervise work activities and lead a team of Field Inspectors to ensure procedures are being followed.
• Observe sampling of vessels, railcars, trucks, and stockpiles following approved protocols to obtain representative samples.
• Train Field Inspectors according to approved methods and SOPs.
• Champion & Train field inspectors team on the use of Health & Safety and Reporting systems (SIR, INTELEX, FLRA, Vehicle inspection).
• Requisition materials and supplies for operations.
• Control and maintenance of SGS Fleet.
• Prepare and review reports.
• Ensure work practices and field inspections meet SOPs and QC standards where required.

Job Description

• Ensure the proper use and (preventative) maintenance of department equipment and tools.
• Maintain and record equipment calibrations.
• Follow all company health, safety and environmental policies.
