Job summary

Mott MacDonald in New Orleans is seeking a Resident Inspector to support roadway, drainage, water, sewer, and utility infrastructure construction. The Resident Inspector will provide full-time field inspection during active construction and serve as an important link between the contractor, Construction Administrator, testing agencies, utility agencies, and other project stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience with Louisiana DOTD certification in roadway categories.
Or 5 years of inspection experience if DOTD certification is not held.
Completion of the Work Zone Traffic Control Technician course.
Experience reading and interpreting construction plans, specs, and contract documents.
Experience preparing daily inspection reports and maintaining field documents.

Responsibilities

Observe construction activities and verify work complies with plans and standards.
Inspect, measure, document, and track quantities for contractor pay requests.
Prepare daily inspection reports with notes, photos, and field conditions.
Document progress with photos and summaries; communicate issues promptly.
Maintain field records and coordinate with agencies and stakeholders.
Monitor and coordinate traffic control, safety measures, and field changes.
Maintain Procore project documentation and field memoranda as required.
